A Free Eye Screening and Cataract Operation Camp Held in Narayanganj

A free eye screening and cataract operation camp held in Narayonganj yesterday corresponding November 24,2017 . Al-Basar International Foundation, Bangladesh Sector organised the event with the support of Epyllion Foundion, a charity concern of Epyllion Group, Bangladesh.

The goal of the event was to assist underprivileged people needing cataract surgery, spectacles or medicine for the common eye diseases.

More than 1500 underprivileged people received free eye treatment from the camp.

225 patients diagnosed with matured cataract. All of them have been admitted for free operation along with IOL implantation. Whereas the patients with other difficulties have been given medicines, eyeglasses and necessary consultancies as per need.

The eye screening procedure took place under the supervision of Dr. Mohammad Abu Sayed, the Medical Director of Al-Noor Eye Hospital, Lalmatia, Dhaka.

The inauguration ceremony of the event started with the recitation from the Holy Quran, and then Mr. Nuruzzaman Khosnabish, HRM of Al-Noor Eye Hospital, took the floor for giving a brief account of Al-Basar International Foundation and its activities in Bangladesh.
The event was inaugurated by Dr. Ahmed Taher Hamid Ali, the Country Director of Al-Basar International Foundation, who thanked Epyllion Foundation and its board of trustee for their support to the eye camp. He also thanked Dr. Abu Sayed and his team for their kind presence and being in full preparation for receiving patients and giving them adequate treatment. Mr. Nuruzzaman Khoshnabish, HRM of Al-Noor Eye Hospital, Mr. Obaid Uzzaman, PRO of Al-Noor Eye Hospital, along with all other officials have also been commended for their efforts towards the event.

Al-Haj Md. Jabrul Islam, an official of Epyllion Foundation and Md.Rafiqur Rahman Kazal, a trustee of Epyllion Foundation spoke at the inauguration ceremony and extolled Al-Basar International Foundation and its hospitals for the quality services offered by them.

Mr. Reaz Udding Al-Mamoon expressed his heartiest gratitude to Dr. Ahmed Taher Hamid Ali for his work for blindness control in Bangladesh and organizing this event for the underprivileged people Noadda area in Narayanganj. He expressed his willingness to supporting Al-Basar International Foundation in more occasions in future.
