A free eye screening and cataract operation camp will be held in Thakurgoan on February 16, 2018. Al-Basar International Foundation, Bangladesh Sector will organize this week-long free eye camp by the support of Dubai Charity Association and UAE AID organization.
The goal of the event is to assist underprivileged people of Thakurgoan district so that they could get rid of cataract, have necessary treatment and consultation for the eye diseases they are faced with.
More than 6 thousand underprivileged patients are expected to gather at our camp. More than 5 hundred among them are expected to be found with matured cataract. All of them will receive 100% free operation and IOL implantation. Whereas the patients with other difficulties will be given free medicines, eyeglasses and necessary consultancies as per need.
The eye screening procedure will take place under the supervision of Dr. Mohammad Abu Sayed, the Medical Director of Al-Noor Eye Hospital, Lalmatia, Dhaka.
The inauguration ceremony of the event will be started with the recitation from the Holy Quran, and then Mr. Nuruzzaman Khosnabish, HRM of Al-Noor Eye Hospital will take floor for giving a brief account of Al-Basar International Foundation and its activities in Bangladesh.
Dr. Ahmed Taher Al-Mambary, the Country Director of Al-Basar International Foundation, will inaugurate the opening ceremony. Meanwhile, Mr. Mohammad Abdul Awal, DC of Thakurgoan district, is expected to attend the occasion as a chief guest. Mr. Dr. Provas Kumar Das, Civil Surgeon of Thakurgoan, and Mr. Mohammad Sadeque Quraishi, Chairman of District Council, will also be present at the occasion as special guests.
A medical team consisting of 70 members will be ready for receiving patients and rendering them proper and adequate treatment.
