Thousands of patients from various parts of Bogra district came to the camp very eagerly moved with the desire of having free treatment for their eye diseases. Most of patient were bearing cataract but because of the poverty and stringent financial conditions in which they were living, it was hard for them to have their eyes treated and their sights restored. To them the Free Eye Camp of Al-Basar was an unprecedented opportunity to lead them right up to the door of hope and happiness.
Patients with mature cataract have only been selected by means of thoroughly eye screening. Then the selected ones went through more investigations for insuring their fitness for surgery. patients who proved to be fit after all examinations are given times and dates for the
It is estimated that each day, more than a hundred patients will be able to undergo cataract surgery at the hands of world class surgeons.
The camp will continue for 7 seven days. Afterward two follow up
events will also be conducted for the patients for looking into the conditions of the operated eyes. The camp will last for 7 days, during which more than 500 patients will hopefully regain their sights and go back to their ordinary life.
